This carrier is best used with babies up to around 15mos. to get complete benefits from the height, hood, and width of leg/hip support. After that they will still be able to ride well, though the Toddler version is best for the next size carrying for optimum comfort for baby.
POINTS OF COMFORT: Our carrier has a soft structured waist for the best comfortable support that gives the load to your strongest muscles--your legs! The base of the body is 11" wide, great support for little ones through the leg area, not too wide to be uncomfortable. The height of the carrier is 17" without the included hood. The belt will adjust (onto the top of your hips) up to 47" regular, then upon request an extension can be sent with an addition 10" of adjustment. No more pain on your back, neck or shoulders--even with those 30+lb little ones!
* Straps wider than most soft structured carriers and very lightly padded--the best of the "wrap" width idea without the length to deal with each time getting the carrier on and off. For those parents who have carrier little ones for hours, you know that the wider straps make a BIG difference!
*The side buckles are 2" wide so that they will never "cut" into your sides or back, they are dual adjusting so that wether you wear your little one on your back or your front, making the fit just right is easily done by you.
* There is an adjustable chest strap included with each carrier though I have not found it necessary when I have used the carrier, For complete safety in all situations it is of course recommended.
*This carrier can be used with the shoulder straps crossed or ruck-sack style while wearing child on your front or your back.
*Also included is a small snapped slide-on pouch that can easily slide onto the belt or be taken off when not needed.
*The carrier has a pocket on the back with hood snapped and hidden on the inside. With the center snap, you may also roll the carrier into itself and keep on your waist when on the go and baby is not being carried!
* Included with each carrier is a removable and adjustable hood that will allow your little one to be protected from the elements outside and to give additional support when sleeping.
* All carriers come with a mesh carrying bag and pictured instruction guide.
With newborns, some parents have found it helpful to have a receiving blanket handy in case you want a more secure fit in the carrier before your baby has complete neck/head control.
The straps easily adjusted for most sizes with no problem at all--going from 16" all the way to 32" on each shoulder strap.
